Appearing at Drone Rodeo was a booth ran by Vernon Kerswell, the owner of Extreme Fliers and the Micro Drone. Apparently they purchased Zano's assets during the liquidation of their company following their kickstarter failure which raised $3M and left backer's high and dry. Their goal is to finish writing a new firmware that will revive some of the old Zano drones that did get produced, freeing them of the central server they currently require in order to fly but is no longer online. They also intend to turn it into the Raspberry Pi for drones by making it an open source project. If you wanted a Micro Drone with the self flying and photographic capability of the much larger and more expensive models, there is still a glimmer of hope.
